Full Text

On Tuesday morning about 5 o'clock the house on Tybee Island, occupied by Mr. M'Annully, the keeper of the light house, and attender of the telegraphic signals between that and this place, was entirely consumed by fire. Mr. M'Annully and his family happily escaped the fury of the flames, although the warning they had was very short. The sufferers had not even time to save a change of clothing. A sick gentleman, a lodger for the night, who first discovered the house to be on fire, had barely time to wrap a covering about him, warn the family of the danger, and escape its effects. Not an article is saved.

Mr. M'Annully has been a faithful and attentive public servant; in the capacities in which he has been employed, and, it is sincerely hoped; that the influential and benevolent will exert themselves in obtaining some relief for himself and family.

It is strongly suspected that the above fire was the work of some incendiary
