Butte Highlands Ships 600 Tons of Gold Ore Receives Net $10,000

Butte Highlands Mining Company, operating in the Highland Mountains, south of Butte, has shipped 600 dry tons of gold ore to the Washoe Smelter in the past six months. For this they received over $10,000 after payment of freight, haulage, treatment and 15% royalty. Lately the mine has been snowed in, but work has gone ahead steadily and an ore body has been opened that is sixty feet wide. As yet it is not known whether this is a swell in the vein or the vein proper. During development work about 150 tons of ore have been put into the bins and shortly will be hauled by trucks to Rocker and thence loaded on cars for the smelter.
