Full Text

GENERAL HULL

Has commenced the publication of his defence in the Boston Centinel. This mode of Informing the public, seems to be too common in the United States. When a man finds his character damned by the constituted authorities of his country, he comes before the people by whom the power was delegated, to satisfy them that he is precisely the scoundrel they thought him. This magnanimous general, if he wished to enjoy tranquility, would have acted more wisely in suffering himself to sink into obscurity, than by thus forcing himself again into public notice, and calling down upon him the chastisement of the press, which was disposed to pass over his faults in silence.
