Full Text

ARMY MOVEMENTS.
Two companies of Volunteers (one of them militia) about 50 men each, from Brunswick, commanded by capts. Maclin and Pritchett, passed through Petersburg on Thursday evening last, destined for Norfolk. They are generally young good looking men, were in high spirits, and will no doubt render a good account of themselves, in the event of coming into collision with a British force. The citizens of Petersburg invited the officers and men of this detachment to partake of soldiers' fare at Poplar Spring. After dinner the troops were escorted to the lower end of Blandford, where they were cheered by the people.
We are requested by the officers of this detachment of troops, to tender their warmest thanks to the citizens of Petersburg for the very friendly manner in which they were received, and the attention paid them during their short stay in town.
