Disastrous Work of Lightning at the
World's Fair.
CHICAGO, June 24.—The fisheries
building on the world's fair grounds was
struck by lightning during the heavy
storm Wednesday night. Watchman
Casey was temporarily stunned by the
flash, which did not, however, do much
damage. It was rumored that the gov-
errment building was on fire but the
report was without foundation.
During the storm Charles Wolfe, who
was lying on the deck of a yacht, was
blown into the lake and drowned. A
barn at the intersection of Twenty-
fourth street and the Illinois Central
railroad tracks was also struck by light-
ning and partially destroyed by the fire
thus produced.
