Full Text

Arrangements were making in London, at the last dates, by the friends of radical reform, for receiving Orator Hunt, in London, with all the parade and pageantry they can prepare. Silk Flags were painting with suitable devices and inscriptions. There was, however, among the reformers, a party opposed to this pompous ceremony. It is indeed rather absurd, considering what they complain of in royalty and aristocracy—a misuse of time and money, and calculated to operate upon the weakness of human nature, and not its wisdom.

At Lancaster, the female reformers took Hunt's horses from his carriage and drew it themselves. What a picture this would make, and yet be no caricature!
