A fight occurred at Bean's Station on the 3d, between Doc Howard and his brother on one side and Dave Miller on the other. During the fracas, Jim Miller (whiteheaded) stepped between the combatants for the purpose of stopping the fight, when Doc Howard emptied the contents of a pistol into his abdomen, from the effects of which Miller died last Saturday. The Howards were arrested and after trial before a magistrate were committed to the Rutledge jail. Judge Rose will hear a habeas corpus to grant them bail next Saturday at Rutledge.
