Launching of a new daily paper at Flagstaff this week by the owners of the Coconino Sun, for more than 60 years a weekly, was of particular interest to the publisher of the Nogales International.
It is the first daily paper at Flagstaff in 30 years. the last having been the Northern Arizona Leader which was founded by the publisher of The International in 1916.
Flagstaff is one of the best towns in Arizona and there is no reason why, with its recent great growth, the new daily should not have a very successful career.
The Coconino Sun was recently acquired by persons who own several dailies in the midwest and other places and apparently they are well-fixed financially.
The Sun for many years was published by the late Col. Fred Breen and later by Columbus Giragi who moved this week from Holbrook to Phoenix. As a weekly it was a big financial success and according to reports netted Mr. Breen a quarter of a million dollars during his lifetime.
