LONDON, March 27.

By accounts received from Bristol, we have the most alarming intelligence of a riot having shewn itself among the colliers there, of whom about 3000 had assembled, resolved to set at liberty the French prisoners, to pull down or destroy a number of houses in Bristol occupied by gentlemen whom they conceived to be inimical to their interests. At one o'clock on Tuesday morning, the last Devon militia were drawn out, and stationed at different parts of the city. The inhabitants were in the greatest alarm, but we hope the exertions of the magistrates, aided by the military, will soon be able to re-establish order. It is said they have an instrument similar to a bugle-horn, which gives a most wonderful sound—this being blown, was the signal for them to assemble, which they did, to the amount, as before mentioned, of full 3000.
