THE MINE AND LITERARY CHRONICLE
The subscriber proposes to issue, in this place, a literary paper with the above title, the columns of which shall be devoted exclusively to literary subjects.
The matter will consist of selections from the most popular authors, together with original contributions, prose and poetical, and arranged in the following departments:
Legendary,
General Intelligence,
Biographical
Miscellaneous, and
Historical,
Poetical.
It will be published semi-monthly, each number containing eight pages, neatly executed on good paper, and afforded to subscribers at $1 50 a year, payable six months after the receipt of the first number.
The subscriber having a very limited acquaintance, feels some diffidence in embarking in this work; yet hopes a discerning public, at least the literary portion of the community, will afford him such encouragement, as, by his endeavors to suit the public taste, he shall merit.
Post-masters and others, who will exert themselves to procure subscribers, shall, if they obtain five subscribers, receive a sixth copy gratis.
