BUILDS A RACE TRACK.
Keating and Hecker Horses to be Trained on the Keating Farm Near City.

Kenosha horsemen are to have a track for use in training their horses as yesterday afternoon John Keating broke ground on his farm west of the city for the installation of a half mile track. While the primary purpose in building the track is to secure a place for the training of the fast horses owned by Mr. Keating the Kenosha horsemen of the whole city will be permitted to use the track and it is expected that many an exciting race will be pulled off there in the future.
The track is being built in the most modern manner and it is expected that it will be completed within the next few weeks. Mr. Keating now has four horses at the track ready to be placed in the hands of the trainers. One of them is "Mallory" the unfortunate candidate of the Keating and Hecker stables for the last American Derby. "Mallory" is rounding into shape again and it is possible that he will be in condition to go on the track during the coming season. Two other colts of great promise will have their training on the track. Both are of the "Flying Dutchman" stock. One is called "Black Dutchman" while the other is called after a niece of Mr. Keating, "Grace Elliott." Both colts will be ready for the track next season and great things are expected of them.
One of the traditions of horse racing in Kenosha is no more as Keating and Hecker have disposed of "The Baird" to Chicago parties and it is hardly possible that the horse will ever run under Kenosha colors again. "Baird" brought $1050.
