Aside from the satisfaction of enjoying a look at the "Lions," some rare sport was expected from the testimony which it was calculated would be extorted from some of these powerful political manipulators; but these gentlemen have no idea of the acts of any member of the last Legislature, nor of any of the influences which might possibly have governed those acts-in fact, their minds are worried with doubt as to whether that august body held its regular biennial session.
It is some satisfaction to know, however, that these highly exalted personages will condescend to take a trifle of interest in subjects of this nature some time next Fall.
