Full Text

Judge Brannon.

The gentleman whose name heads this article is known personally to many of our readers, yet we deem it but right to say a word in his behalf. As a judge our people are perfectly familiar with his rulings. Notwithstanding the amount of criminal causes to occupy his time at the last term of court, he worked hard to clear the docket of old chancery causes, and did a large amount of such work. We believe it would not be flattery, nor would it be so considered, to say that the place he now occupies could not be filled with equal satisfaction to the people by any other man in this Judicial Circuit. We know nothing of the Judge's intention, but speaking as we do from our own observations, knowing that we thus reflect the wishes of a large part of this Circuit.--Philippa Pluminer.
