Fashions, Fads, Foibles

THE outstanding item of the season's fashions is color, though black and white, and navy blue are more popular than ever. An innovation is the combination of blue with crown brown skirt, blue blouse; or blue suit with brown shoes. Colors are fast and you can tub 'em and feel as fresh as a rose.

The snugly fitted, brimless hat, the shallow sailor and the baby bonnet are three favorite hat styles. Gingham has come out of the kitchen and is parading in society. Neck lines tend to pile up in front, while the back may be a deep "y" or a slit, as though the center back seam had not been sewed up.

Shoulder furbelows have disappeared. The tops of sleeves are plain, with the fulness and ornament about the elbows.

Skirts are a bit shorter.
