Grand Coulee dam in Washington state, and Boulder dam in the Pacific southwest, projects of the Bureau of Reclamation, will furnish power for the defense production of more than one-third of the 600,000,000 pounds of additional aluminum production planned by the Office of Production Management beginning in 1942, according to reports.

This contribution to the national defense program has been made possible by the speed-up of the generation schedules undertaken months ago in anticipation of defense demands. Commissioner John C. Page reported to Secretary of the Interior Harold L. Ickes. Additional generators are being rushed for both the Coulee and Boulder projects.
