West Hull street: Rev. D. W. Stephens, pastor. The services Sunday were well attended. The pastor filled the pulpit both morning and night.
His subject at 11:30 was "God's New Contract with Man".
The Sunday school under Supt. Shuler, and the League under President Gaines are stirring things up.
A visitor, George Barton, gave an interesting talk. The League program was conducted by little Charlotte Hazel, at which time the following persons appeared: Mrs. M. C. Chisholm, Mossie M. Hooks, Beulah McQue, Martha Bryant, Eliza Gibbs and others.
Everybody seems to be very enthusiastic over the financial drive and many captains are proud of their having been honored as stars.
Sunday night were Mrs. Viola Brown, little Lucy Drayton, S. J. Izzard, Helen Wilson and Mollie Drayton; and those receiving silver stars were Mrs. Donnie Lomax, Mrs. Fannie Wilson, George Bradley, Ephraim Shuler, Thomas Pinckney, Leroy Lowry Mrs. Thelma Gathers, Mrs. Josephine McPherson, Mozel Mungin and Leslie Lampkin.
Rev. D. W. Stephens has received a gold star every Sunday since the drive started. Sunday is our communion day and an elaborate program has been arranged.
