The public expect to have laid before them, every thing which has the appearance of information respecting our Envoys. The Washington Gazette, of the 25th ult. says, "we can assert with confidence, that no official despatches have been received from our Envoys at Paris, of a date later than May 17, and that our government has no official information of the actual state of the negotiation with France."—Capt. Warden, arrived at New-York, a few days since from Europe,—and who left Paris the 7th of August, says, "that the day before he left that city he had an interview with Mr. Murray, one of the American Ministers, and was informed, that the negotiations were in an uncertain state—that nothing had been done."—But a letter from St. Sebastians, of the 19th of August [St. Sebastians is above 500 miles from Paris] says, "Our Ministers proceed with the negotiation at Paris. Letters from Bordeaux, of the 14th, express expectation of a speedy renewal of intercourse, if not the completion of a treaty. French privateers are ordered to respect the American flag."
