The Civil War in Switzerland.—We see by further details of the occurrences in Switzerland, that the Jesuits, whose employment to conduct the college in Lucerne was the immediate cause of the war upon that canton, have signified to it that for the sake of peace they will give up the agreement entered into with them. The proposition was made to them by the canton. They had acceded, but were not to enter upon the duties of their charge until after several months. The interval had not elapsed when the hostile provinces invaded Lucerne.—Compiler.
