Full Text

GOVERNOR DAVIS.

We ought before now perhaps to have mentioned that Senator Davis, of Massachusetts, has left his seat in the Senate of the United States, having resigned it for the purpose of assuming the duties of Governor of his State, to which he has been called by a most honorable vote of his fellow-citizens. Every body regrets his departure from the National Councils, of which he has been so useful and esteemed a Member. The People willed it however, and, as the Man of the People, he could but obey their call.—Nat. Int.
