CHOOSING WARDENS
WASHINGTON, D. C., June 13—
Last week the House passed the Senate bill which will entirely transfer the administration of the Alaska Game laws from the Governor of Alaska to the Secretary of Agriculture. At the present time the governor virtually has the appointment of game wardens, three or four from each division, excepting the First, where John Hancock of Nome performs all the duties.
It is designed now to have all these men selected by Department of Agriculture officials, to whom they will report and be directly responsible.
At present the Chief Fur Warden and United States game warden for the territory is Ernest P. Walker, with headquarters at Juneau.
