Columbus—Becoming better acquainted with how "the other half lives." will make the problems of rural-urban relations easier to solve.
Ohio's committee on observance of Farm-City Week, meeting at the College of Agriculture the Ohio State University, to prepare for the 1957 observance November 22-28, agreed that public understanding of agriculture and industry and business increased many-fold as a result of the 1955 and 1956 programs.
The state committee recommended that county extension agents assume leadership in setting up county Farm-City committees .In 44 Ohio counties farm-city interchange of information through tours to farms and factories. joint meetings of rural and urban clubs and inter-family visits bore fruit of understanding last year. This was the report of D. B. Robinson, assistant director of Agricultural Extension Service in charge of programs to the state Farm-City Week committee.
The state committee elected W. B. Wood, director of the Extension Service, and Gerald Stahly, Lancaster, Ohio representing the Kiwanis clubs of Ohio, as co-chairmen for the 1957 observance.
