Avondale Adopts Charter Government By Two To One Vote

The people of the city of Avondale voted to adopt a charter form of government at Monday's election by a majority of 103 to 49. Twenty three voters did not mark their ballots on the question of a charter government.

Eleven names were on the ballot for the 14 freeholder positions and three were chosen from the many write-ins to make up the committee which will draft the charter in 90 days.

Elected were Thomas Aragon, Paul DeSanti, Paul M. Gaefcke, Joe F. Holly, Paul V. Linville, Myrtle V. Lopez, C. P. Lorenz, John F. McCauley, Felix Martinelli, Harry L. Phillips, E. R. Schneider.

Write-ins were Anna Howe, E. G. "Tex" Gage, and J. Randolph Bittle.
