Full Text

SPRAGUE'S "EPISODES." It was left for the Rutland Globe—by Philadelphia correspondent—to prick the "Vermont Headquarters" bubble, over which half the state has been in agony ever since Gov. Peck refused to call a special session of the Legislature to vote money to grind private axes. We call attention to the article published elsewhere, under head of "How is this?" also to Judge Bowman's resignation as one of the committee to raise funds. It was apparent from the first to all who wanted to see, that it was simply a nice little scheme to make the state, or individuals all over the state, pay for a building in which to advertise the Brandon scales, and have a "bum" generally.—Caledonian.
