On this occasion, the regiment received a new standard, on which the arms of the state were elegantly painted. The standard was presented to the regiment, with all the martial etiquette practiced on such occasions.
The regiment being formed into two battalions, were marched into a field assigned for their reception; where they were reviewed by brigadier general Malcolm; and performed a variety of evolutions with much more celerity and precision than is commonly displayed by militia.
After the dismissal of the troops, the officers were invited to the quarters of the commandant; where they spent the evening with the greatest harmony, conviviality and decorum; and having fulfilled the law, "on their part," thus closed the campaign.
