Gopher Students Favor
Sig Harris or Dobie
Minneapolis, Jan. 3.--A former Gopher star is almost certain to be appointed successor to Dr. H. L. Williams, in case the veteran coach decides to accept the Yale offer.
Among the more prominent men whose names have been linked with the Gopher coachship are Sig Harris, first assistant to Dr. Williams since 1906; Gilmore Dobie, who recently resigned at Washington university after turning out eight successive championship teams, and John McGovern, who has been in charge at Macalester the past two seasons.
Harris probably knows more about the Williams style of play than either McGovern or Dobie. Harris' success in turning over first class players from his freshmen squad each fall speaks volumes for his coaching ability.
