The loss by the late fire at Charleston is estimated at half a million sterling. Indeed the two last fires must have laid in ashes one fourth or one third of that flourishing town.

The Intendant of Charleston, under the impression, that the late fire was the effect of design, has offered a reward of 1000 Dollars, for the conviction of any person concerned in such crime.

The Governor has issued his Proclamation, offering a Free Pardon to those actually condemned, who will give information sufficient to convict the principal offenders.
