300,000 MEN EXPECTED TO BE EMPLOYED ON BUILDING OF ROADS

WASHINGTON, Jan. 21. (P) - New roads sufficient to circle the globe will crisscross America this year at an estimated cost of $896,048,923 of which the federal government will provide $293,000,000.

Approximately 9,000 miles of the 20,000 miles of roadwork will be paving; 300,000 men are expected to be employed in the Pacific Coast states.

A total of $78,311,500 are for the upkeep and the improvement of old roads and construction of new roads which will employ 16,000 men on 2,349 miles of road including new and old roads.
