Bismarck, N. D., Jan. 8.—The senate Republicans met in caucus and perfected organization and appointed a committee of two to confer with a committee from the house as to the time for holding the senatorial caucus. The indications are that Hansbrough will succeed himself, but an effort will be made by the Populists to secure the aid of enough dissatisfied Republicans to prevent a caucus, in the hope of helping elect a Republican who will concede something to them for their support.
