The Shasta Courier says:—"We have known him intimately for years, and know him to possess every requirement for the position he seeks. We know, too, that he will use only honorable means to attain it. Mr. Gordon was among the first to enlist in the service of his country in this State, believing that his regiment would be sent to the front. If the State has offices to bestow, let those who have been radical in the service of their country be the incumbents."
The Red Bluff Independent says :—" If there is anybody in the State who really deserves, and who is capable of filling the desk, Charlie is the man. We hope that influence enough will be found to secure his appointment."
The Marysville Appeal says :—" Mr. Gordon is a young man of correct habits, and deserves the position to which he aspires.'"
The American Flag says :—" He is a straightforward and exemplary young man : well qualified, and fully deserving of the position.'"
Returning thanks, in his behalf, for the kindly mention made by the fraternity generally, we leave his case to the decision of the gentlemen of the State Senate.
