Rev. Floyd Massey Gives Opening Speech At Baptist Convention

Rev. Floyd Massey, Jr., pastor of Pilgrim Baptist church, addressed the women's convention of the National Baptist convention of America, Inc., during its session in Detroit, Michigan, September 5-9.

Rev. Massey was the opening speaker on Wednesday morning, September 5. The topic assigned to him was "Christian Women in a Reconstruction Period; The Home a Production Line."

Church Filled

The Mount Zion Baptist church. meeting place for the women's auxiliary, was filled to capacity. Rev. Massey's text was: "But one thing is needful and Mary hath chosen that good part."Luke 10:42.

This convention, composed of delegates from all over the nation, received with warmth the message of the youthful minister of Minnesota. The Minnesota delegation was there in good numbers to give its support to the pastor of Pilgrim.
