The person who lost his life by the explosion of a powder mill at Gorham, Me. one day last, was a young man from the town of Gray, Me., by the name of Charles Humphreys, aged 23. The concussion from the explosion was tremendous, and immediate or less, all the buildings belonging to the establishment. A dwelling house also, situated about 90 rods distant, had every window stove in, and one of its rafters broken. A section 100 feet of the tow path of the Cumberland and Oxford Canal were injured, and a breach of about 30 feet made in the canal itself.
