What is this article about?

The British government praised and ordered the printing of US Secretary of the Treasury's report on tariff reduction, sent by President Polk via the Cambria, viewing it as important to British interests. Full Text

As appears by the Foreign News by the Cambria, a copy of Mr. Polk's Secretary of the Treasury's Report was sent to Lord Aberdeen, for the consideration of the British Government. That government lauds it, and has ordered it to be printed as a British document; as one of high interest and importance to British interests. An American Secretary of the Treasury preparing a plan to reduce an American tariff, and submitting it to the consideration of the British Government or its assent or dissent, is truly a new feature in our history; a disgraceful feature; and one which identifies beyond the possibility of a doubt, that the Loco party is the British party, and desire to sacrifice American vital interests to settle the Oregon question.—Ohio Repository.
