COLLISION.

The steamer Centennial, Capt. Thomas Davidson in charge, while passing through Hannibal bridge Monday evening on her way south from St. Paul to St. Louis, was struck by wind and ran into the draw piers nearest the Missouri shore, having her starboard wheel-house stove. The collision naturally produced great excitement among the large number of passengers on board and a scene of confusion ensued, but the officers acted with coolness and soon succeeded in restoring order. No one was injured. The boat drifted helplessly down stream for a distance of three miles, several unsuccessful attempts being made to effect a landing.

She finally anchored in mid stream, and the work of repairing damages was commenced. The boat left for St. Louis yesterday.
