Boosters Plan New Orleans' Meet in June

Everything is in readiness for the 22nd Dixie Boosters' Convention in New Orleans June 19, 20 and 21, which promises to be the biggest and best ever held.

That is the last word from Field Supervisor J. S. Haddock, chairman of the New Orleans meeting.

"All members of the Brotherhood and Auxiliary and their friends are invited to join us on this wonderful vacation of fun, banquets, dances, sightseeing by air, land and water," Haddock said.

The completely air-conditioned Roosevelt Hotel will be headquarters for the convention. A post-convention air trip will be made to Mexico City.

The convention will open June 19 with registration at 9 a. m. in the lobby of Roosevelt Hotel. At 2 p. m. a sightseeing tour of New Orleans by bus will start from the hotel. A banquet will follow at 7 p. m. in the grand ballroom of the Roosevelt Hotel with addresses by Grand Lodge officers.

On the second day, June 20, at 10 a. m. the Auxiliary will hold a closed meeting in the Gold Room of the Roosevelt, while the Brotherhood will conduct a closed session in the University Room. At 7:30 p. m., a moonlight excursion on the Mississippi, featuring dancing, will be taken aboard the S. S. President, finest and largest river liner in the South.

An executive meeting of the Dixie Boosters will be held June 21 at 10 a. m. in the University Room of the Roosevelt. A banquet, drills and dance in the grand ballroom will be held at 7 p. m.

The trip by air to Mexico City will get under way June 22 at 1:05 p. m. Full information is contained in a brochure being distributed. Reservations are to be made with McDougall's Travel Service.

Hotel reservations may be made with the Roosevelt, Jung and New Orleans Hotels.

"Attendance is expected to break all records," Field Supervisor Haddock said, "so I urge you to make immediately your hotel reservations direct with the hotel of your choice, so you will be assured of accommodations, as the hotel situation in New Orleans is critical."
