Wednesday, 10 o'clock, A. M. March 14, 1787.
Mr. Doughty from the Committee of the whole House, on the bill entitled an act for the relief of persons therein mentioned, Merchants in the City of New-York, who previous to the late war were, still are, indebted to merchants in Great-Britain, & for other purposes therein mentioned; reported, that after the said bill had been read in the Committee, and after the first enacting clause had been again read, Mr. Tayler made a motion that the said bill should be rejected. That debates arose on the said motion, and that the question having been put thereon, it passed in the manner following, viz.

That the Committee had made further progress in the bill, and had directed him to move for leave to sit again.
