The Future Farmers of America at Christiansted High School held its Achievement Day Program Feb. 26, 1960 with Mr. Raphael Wheatley, Coordinator of Vocational Education for the Virgin Islands as guest speaker. He spoke on Agriculture, its place in the economy of the Virgin Islands. Also, he made the presentation of awards totaling $150.00.
The winners are as follows:
Supervised Farming Program
First Prize Rudolph David $30.00
Second Prize Marcelo Viera $25.00
Third Rexford Schuster $20.00
Individual Vegetable Project
First Prize Colin Moorhead $10.00
Second Delroy Peterson $5.00
Third Rudolph David $5.00
Fourth Raymond Jackson $5.00
Poultry Project Award went to Glenwood Coggins and Lowell Beatty $10.00 ea
Farm Mechanics Award went to Delroy Miller. The awards for the best all around students in Vocational Agriculture were won by Colin Moorhead and Delroy Miller $10.00 each.
The Future Farmers of America Foundation Incorporated, Department of Health, Education, and Welfare, Washington, D. C. gave the awards.
