Full Text

Wisconsin.—The Whigs of the Congressional district immediately adjacent to Minnesota, have nominated Chauncey Abbott, of Madison, for Congress. The Democrats have not yet nominated. Eastman, the present incumbent, or Dr. Hoyt, of St. Croix county, will probably be the man. Mr. Abbot is thus spoken of by papers near his home:

Chauncey Abbott, of Madison, has been nominated for Congress by the Whigs of the 2d Congressional district. He is about as good a man as the Whigs could nominate, and will most certainly poll his full party vote.—Wash. Co. Blade, (Dem.)

The Democratic papers all speak well of Mr. Abbott. They concede his personal worth and eminent fitness for the office to which the Whigs have nominated him. We trust that our friends in the Second District intend to give him the heartiest kind of support.—Milwaukee Sentinel.
