SENATORS WIFE IGNORES WHITE HOUSE INVITATION

WASHINGTON Mrs. Eisenhower gave a spring luncheon for Senator's wives and included on the guest list Mrs. Joseph McCarthy, wife of the Wisconsin Senator who was snubbed at formal White House affairs earlier this-year.

But Mrs. McCarthy didn't attend. She explained later, "I didn't see an invitation," and added:

"I wouldn't have gone anyway. When they wouldn't invite my husband to the White House because of his fight against Communism I would hardly go either."

Mrs. McCarthy would have been one of the more than 100 guests. Mrs. Eisenhower's secretary, Mrs. Mary Jane McCaffree, said an invitation had been
