In the legislative proceedings of last week, we find the following. The parties are well known in this place:

The bill annulling the marriage contract between Joseph F. Kirby and Mary, his wife, was read. Also, an Affidavit setting forth that the parties were married on the condition that the latter should renounce her religious faith, she being a Roman Catholic and Kirby a Protestant; that she adhered to her church, went to confession, had her baby christened by a Catholic priest against his will; that in consequence of disagreements the parties separated several times and attempted again to live together, but finally Mary left taking with her a child and refused to return. The bill passed yeas 58, nays 28.
