Three Johns Are Cause of Error For Some Voters Most Unusual Fact Obtains Concerning One of Democratic Nominees

There appears to be confusion among voters of the county over the candidate for superior court judge on the democratic ticket, due to the unusual number of attorneys of the same family name and the same given name. The common custom of calling people by their first given name, if they have two, has lead to the general acquaintance by people of Cochise county of three attorneys, each of whom could be called "John" with the same propriety. Each has a middle name but it has never been common for men to use a double given name in addressing their fellows. However, at least two of these gentlemen in recent years have been quite frequently referred to by use of their middle name along with their first name, "John," while the other has seldcm been called other than John.

Singularly enough, all three are democrats but of no family relationship whatever.

The democratic candidate for judge is John Wilson Ross. He is a practicing attorney at Bisbee, having no law partner. There is John Franklin Ross, of Tombstone, a practicing attorney who has no law partner. Then there is John Mason Ross, of Ellinwood and Ross, formerly of Bisbee, but now of Phoenix, but whose law firm continues to maintain offices at Bisbee as Ellinwood and Ross. Some voters have thought that the candidate was John Franklin Ross, the former county attorney. Some have thought him "John" Ross, of Ellinwood and Ross. He is John Wilson Ross, of Bisbee, the candidate who was the nominee of the republican party when Senator Fred Sutter was the democratic candidate who was elected to the judgeship.

On the republican ticket this year, the candidate is Judge Albert M. Sames, incumbent judge.
