Full Text

A team belonging to the Marietta brewery became frightened Saturday evening and ran down Front street to Putnam, where they turned and started across the pontoon bridge. Two buggies were coming across the bridge but the horses, either impelled by force of habit or guided by chance, turned aside and passed the vehicles in safety. The runaway team was caught on the West Side and brought back over the river. The wagon was empty when the horses ran down Front street and across the bridge. As the animals had no driver to direct their course the fortunate outcome of the occurrence is remarkable
