We dislike very much to take any notice of articles contained in such a paper as the Tribune, but will without equivocation call all of the above a lie. We know it is not a very pretty term to use, but no other word will suit better in this case. The Norman bursted her steam pipe twelve miles out in the lake, during a violent northeaster, and never touched bottom in running into Superior Bay for refuge. Although loaded with Duluth freight, and bound for that place, not having a single pound for Superior, yet her Captain would not risk their breakwater humbug, so came into Superior harbor for safety until the storm had subsided. The editor of the Tribune must have felt guilty after writing such barefaced falsehoods as are contained in the above article. He knew well that not a word of it was true, but with his accustomed meanness thought he had a good chance to make his sheet still more unpopular.
