WHO ARE TRAITORS?
They who betray the country to an enemy!
They betray the country to an enemy, who in a time of danger abuse the Government, and thereby weaken the confidence of the people in its measures.
They betray the country, who charge the constituted authorities with venality and corruption : and make the most scandalous misrepresentations in favor of the enemy.
They betray the country, who instead of encouraging its citizens, and awakening all that is patriotic and virtuous within them ; endeavor to depress their minds by fancied images of want and misery, and to drive them to despair by representing their cause desperate, and the power of the enemy irresistible.-And lastly, they betray the country, who inform the enemy of its weak points of defence ; declare it to be disaffected to its government ; and thus invite and encourage, every hostile attempt.
Are not Russell, and Prentice, and Park, all of Boston, and editors of the Centinel, Gazette, and Repertory, guilty of these things ?
ERGO.
