Riot and Loss of Life.

A friend who arrived yesterday morning from Blairsville, Pa., gave us a few particulars of a dreadful riot, which occurred near that place on Friday last, between two bodies of laborers on the Pennsylvania railroad. It seems that these persons, known as the Lockport men, (from the little town of that name,) and the Pack-saddle boys, (the latter, we believe deriving their name from one of the contractors,) resolved to decide their difference by a regular pitched battle. They advanced towards each other, armed with guns, pistols, clubs, and other weapons. At the first fire four fell dead and numbers were wounded—some of them mortally. The Lockporters then made a charge upon their opponents and succeeded in completely routing them. We learn from other sources that the militia have been ordered out, but that none of the rioters had been arrested,-Pittsburgh Gazette.
