Full Text

The Camden Republican speaks of a lady named Hannah Simpkins, aged 68 years, who a few days since left home on her twenty-third tour to the state of Ohio, where some of her children reside. She has visited them annually for the last twenty years, and in two instances has visited them twice in the same year, making forty-four times that she has crossed the Alleghany mountains. Within the last twenty years she has travelled thirty one thousand miles, and what is more singular, all these journeys have been travelled on foot; and she has subsisted principally by the charity of those benevolent people she has met with on her journeys.—Phil.
