Fellow-Citizens,
This day you are again called upon to assemble in Town-Meeting for the purpose of Electing your Governor, Lieutenant Governor, &c. for the year ensuing. On this important occasion it behooves every Republican to discharge his duty to his God, his country, and himself. Every minor consideration should yield to this important subject. Look at the disgraceful conduct of your present state rulers during the late war, and we ask, can you permit such men longer to degrade the name and character of Rhode-Island?--Turn out in your strength, Republicans, and put down this abominable faction--convince them you are no longer their dupes--and indignantly drive them from those stations, which have so long been dishonored by them. Every Republican Freeman will consider the importance of his single vote, and not, by a criminal neglect, suffer such men as the advocates of Hartford Conventions, to triumph over Republicanism and the dearest interests of our country.
