Squatter Difficulty. - We have an account of a squatter difficulty just across the line, on the Oregon side, growing out of the attempt of a man named Mooney, to "jump" the land claim of an old man who had befriended him. The rightful owner, who has occupied the claim for over two years, is named Kopp, a German, and it seems that Mooney, attempted to drive him from his cabin and take forcible possession, threatening to kill him if he ever came upon the claim again. This state of affairs coming to the knowledge of the neighbors, they turned out in force and compelled the squatter to leave. The affair occasioned considerable excitement, and Mooney was fortunate to get off with a whole skin.
