Full Text

New-Orleans--One would suppose, from the general complexion of the New-Orleans newspapers, that that city was as healthy as could be wished. Whether from design or not, it is a fact, that no regular account is given of the progress of the fever, or of the number of deaths. In the papers which arrived yesterday, however, we have a glimpse of its comparative health. The number of burials in the week ending on Saturday the 16th ultimo, was ninety eight: "so that, (says the Louisiana Gazette) the mortality has diminished about one-third, when compared with that of the week preceding." Adding that third, we shall find the deaths to have been, in one week, an hundred and fifty, or thereabouts.--N. Intell.
