The mill is 66 feet on Market street and 108 on Quincy, and will be four stories high. It will have six run of burrs, and will be capable of making twelve barrels of flour an hour, and when urged to its fullest capacity 288 barrels per day.
The engine has been contracted for in Providence, R. I., and will arrive in a short time.
The mill will cost from 40 to 50 thousand dollars and will, it is confidently expected, be in successful operation some time during the month of November next.
The Messrs. Pollock expect to do heavy local and supply trade, and they design to keep the best of flour constantly in store at the mill.
For this reason they consider their central location favorable, and the establishment being situated between two railroad depots and near the river, a great deal will be saved to them in the way of hauling.
Many persons are astonished at the immense capacity of the mill, but the proprietors doubtless understand what they are doing, for with a mill of such capacity they can at all times accommodate themselves to the fluctuations of the markets.
The enterprise of the Messrs. Pollock deserves the most abundant success and we hope they may realize all their expectations.
