SOUTH CAROLINA COLLEGE.
Messrs Editors: A recent visit to Columbia called to my attention some facts about the South Carolina College of a cheering character. They are all fairly and earnestly at work again. Twenty-one applicants have been admitted since the opening of the session. A member of the Faculty told me there were a hundred and seventy students on the campus last Saturday; and the expectation is that there will be over two hundred by January. Public confidence is very far from lost in our College yet. A spirit of order and industry pervades the campus quite hope-inspiring to the friends of the institution. For one, I see reason to believe that it will stand higher in three years than it has ever done.
